Lip Tattooing

Melbourne’s Lip Tattooing Experts

Restore Colour. Enhance Shape. Achieve Softly Blushed Lips That Stay All Day.

At Brow & Arrow, we specialise in lip blush tattooing—a semi-permanent treatment that adds subtle colour, definition and fullness to your lips without harsh lines or obvious pigment. The result? A soft, natural tint that gives the illusion of volume and balance, tailored to your unique features and skin tone.

What Is Lip Blush Tattooing?

Lip tattooing—also known as lip blush—is a gentle form of cosmetic tattooing that deposits pigment into the lips using ultra-fine needles. Unlike old-style lip liner tattoos, today’s techniques are soft, sheer, and incredibly natural.

Our approach enhances your natural lip shape, evens out tone, and restores colour lost through ageing, sun damage, or medical treatment.

Expected Results

Lip blush results are soft, subtle, and semi-permanent. Expect the colour to fade 30–50% during healing, revealing a sheer tint that enhances your lips without looking “done.”

Results typically last 1–3 years, with touch-ups recommended every 12–18 months depending on your lifestyle and skin type.

Initial Consultation

Prior to treatment, we connect with you in a private, personal 1-on-1 consultation. No rushed appointments here. We take the time to understand your goals and what you ultimately want from the treatment.

Colour Match

We then select a pigment that enhances your natural lip tone. Whether you want a barely-there pink, a muted coral, or a soft nude, we customise the blend for you. Nothing proceeds until you’re 100% in love with the colour—no pressure, no surprises.

Precare & Treatment

In the week leading up to your appointment, we recommend gentle lip exfoliation and daily lip balm hydration. There’s no need to apply numbing cream at home—we do that for you using a safe, in-salon anaesthetic. The process takes about two hours. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching or tingling, and many feel minimal discomfort due to our medical-grade numbing cream.

Healing & Aftercare

Lips will appear more vibrant for the first few days, followed by gentle peeling. Full colour settles over 3–4 weeks. Avoid touching, picking, or applying makeup to the area during healing.

Perfecting Session

A second appointment is scheduled 4–6 weeks later to adjust depth, colour, or shape. This ensures the pigment holds beautifully, and the result is even and natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is lip blush tattooing?

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that adds soft colour and definition to the lips. It enhances natural tone, restores shape, and gives the appearance of fuller, more even lips.

Does lip tattooing hurt?

We apply a medical-grade numbing agent to keep you comfortable. Most clients feel mild tingling or scratching, but the procedure is very tolerable.

Will my lips look too dark or artificial?

No. Your lips may appear more intense in the first few days, but the final healed colour is soft and sheer, like a tinted balm. We use carefully customised pigments for natural, flattering results.

How long does it last?

Lip blush typically lasts between 1–3 years. Touch-ups are recommended every 12–18 months to maintain the colour.

Is lip tattooing safe for mature or sensitive lips?

Yes. Our technique is gentle and suitable for delicate skin. We also work with clients post-filler or those with uneven pigmentation due to age or medical conditions.
